How to Install

The basics of cabinet installation are pretty much the same everywhere. Installers may have a few different tricks. I Have put a few links here that may help if you decide to install the cabinets yourself.

We have been involved with cabinet installation for over 16 years and I still learn from people now and again.

Here are a couple of tips to think about.

  • How will you hold the upper cabinets up if you do not have a helper?
I have always installed the uppers before bases, it allows you to get under them better, I also make a couple of sticks notched on one end about 55-56" long and place them in the front, this alows you to not even have to hold the cabinet and adjust as needed.

  • Get all of your tools together and lay them out for ease of use.

  • Get all of the right screws, I do not recomend sheetrock screw. some 3" screws for attaching to the wall, 1 1/4 for general use, I use 2" trim head screws for the face frames, makes a smaller hole easire to fill.

  • Did you find the high spots on the floor and level your bases to that.

  • Did I lay on the wall to make sure everything fits properly or so I can have equal fillers on a wall to wall run.

When you want to install your own kitchen, these are some great reference material links that should cover all types of installations.
